Brompton T Line: Material, colour and finish
Titanium is ultra strong and ultra light. It’s the world’s number one naturally occurring metal for strength-to-weight ratio. Being naturally corrosion resistant means high shine and zero rust in all conditions.
The final finish is an elegant Raw Polished Titanium, shot peened for increased strength. The colour, dependant on the light, shines between silvery-white to gunmetal grey.
Brompton T Line: The manufacturing process
All Brompton titanium frame-sets start their life as a set of tubes in their specialist TIG welding factory in Sheffield, 300km north of their London Factory. Brompton built this dedicated space as titanium requires different skills, machinery, and process than steel.
With Sheffield's rich history and legacy of expertise in metalworking it was the perfect place to locate the new titanium only production site. TIG Welding requires a high level of skill and coordination between hand, foot and eye, with each welder having their own signature style making every weld unique.
Brompton are proud of the quiality of their skilled TIG welders, that’s why each bike is marked by its maker.
